On 19–20 May 2025, the Swedish ACT (Advanced Chip Technologies) Competence Centres Consortium gathered at The Loop in Science Village, Lund. The two-day meeting brought together partners from academia, industry, SMEs, public sector actors, and innovation support organizations to advance national collaboration in advanced chip technologies.

The event contributed to ongoing efforts to strengthen national coordination within the ACT Competence Centre and to support Sweden’s active participation in Europe’s work on advanced chip technologies, sustainability, and digitalization.

ACT partners represented at the meeting included Lund University, KTH, LU Ventures, Region Skåne, Region Stockholm, Stockholm Stad, Volvo Cars, Ericsson, IRnova, AlixLabs, Acconeer, AlignedBio, NordAmps, RISE, KISAB, STING and ALSTOM.

The programme included plenary sessions, interactive workshops, a dedicated Sustainability Dialogue, and a session titled Deep Tech Funding in Sweden, Insights from Industrifonden organized by NanoLund, LU Ventures, and Industrifonden. The session was followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Acconeer, LU Ventures, Industrifonden, and ALMI, who engaged with questions from the audience.

More than 20 poster presentations highlighted R&D from both academic researchers and ACT industry partners, demonstrating progress in areas such as chip design, integration, sensing, packaging, and sustainable systems, reflecting activities in WP1–WP3.

Presentations from Ericsson, RISE, IRnova, ALSTOM, and AlixLabs provided insight into industrial innovation, while discussions throughout the meeting focused on impact, collaboration models, and alignment with European R&I priorities. Region Skåne contributed with a presentation on European Regional Strategic Outreach, highlighting the role of regions in shaping Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem and promoting strategic engagement through the European Semiconductor Regions Alliance (ESRA).
